Beth Adele Cleaver
A private service for Beth Adele Cleaver of Novato was held Monday evening at Keatonís Chapel of Marin in Novato.
Mrs. Cleaver, 82, died Sunday at the Hill Road Convalescent Hospital in Novato.
Mrs. Cleaver was born in Portland, Ore. She had been a resident of the convalescent hospital since June 1982. She previously lived at the Tamalpais Creek Retirement Home in Novato and at the Villa Del Rey Retirement Home in Napa. She lived most of her life in Oregon.
She was a member of Hope Chapter No. 13 of the Order of the Eastern Star in La Grande, Ore., and of the Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
Mrs. Cleaver was an avid trout fisherwoman and bowler and had served as a Gray Lady.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Fountain of Novato; Rosemary J. Teuscher of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Dorothy D. Sherman of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband, J. Francis Cleaver, a hydrologic engineer for the U.S. Geological Survey, died in May 1978. They had been married in 1927.
Burial will be in Portland Friday after an Eastern Star memorial service.
Her family asked that memorial contributions go to the Shriners Hospital in San Francisco or Portland.
