Marjorie “Marge” Convis of San Anselmo died Friday, Nov. 16, 1990, at Marin General Hospital after a short illness. She was 74.
She was born in Turtle Lake, Wis.
She met her future husband, Mike Convis, in La Cross, Wis., in 1939 while he was attending the University of Wisconsin. The couple married in 1941.
Mrs. Convis later lived in Illinois while her husband was overseas during World War II. She later moved to Concord in 1944 and her husband joined her there. The couple moved to Tomales in 1946 and then to San Anselmo in 1954.
Mrs. Convis was a secretary at Tomales High School from 1946 to 1954 and a secretary in various departments at the College of Marin from 1955 until retiring in 1980.
She helped raise money for t he Drake Scholarship Foundation, which pays for scholarships for high school graduates attending trade school or college.
Survivors are her husband, Mike Convis of San Anselmo, a retired Drake High School teacher; a daughter, Marilyn Armour of San Rafael; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
There will be no service. Inurnment will be private.
