Florence M. Croker
A private funeral has been held for Florence M. Croker, a third generation California and long-time San Rafael resident, who died Saturday at Marin Convalescent Hospital in Tiburon.
She was 91.
She was born and raised in San Francisco and was a graduate of Girls High School. She also graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1918 and taught history at Lowell High School in San Francisco until retiring in 1951.
She moved to San Rafael in 1924.
She was the widow of Fred Croker, a real estate broker and land developer.
Her grandfather, John A. McGlynn, arrived in California during the Gold Rush and later became t he first county recorder of San Francisco.
Mrs. Croker is survived by her son, Rolfe Croker of Tiburon, president of the Pacific Coast Title Co. in San Rafael, five grandchildren and three great -grandchildren.
Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the Hanna Boys Center of Sonoma.
