Isabella Day Dies In Hub

Isabella Day, who lived most of her 70 years in San Anselmo and whose career included teaching in China and operating business and music schools in Marin County, died unexpectedly last night at her home at 1648 San Anselmo avenue, San Anselmo.

Death is believed to have resulted from a heart attack.

Miss Day was a teacher of Sunday school and music and member of the choir and the Ladies Guild of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was active also in the Marin Nature Group, Marin Amateur Astronomers and Adelphian Society.

She was born in American Fork, Utah, but was brought to San Anselmo as an infant and attended grammar school there and San Rafael High School.

After attending Western College for Women at Oxford, Ohio, she taught for six years in a school for girls in Nanking, China. Returning here, she took a business course at University of California. Then for six years, she, with Sybil Howe, operated the Marin Business School in San Rafael.

She later operated the Marin Music Studio in San Anselmo, and taught in a private business school in Albuquerque, N.M.

She made her home with her brother, Edward C. Day. Also surviving is another brother, Clarence B. Day of Arlington, Va.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
