FERRITER, Joseph P. Jr. -- Passed away peacefully on February 16, 2001. He is survived by wife Claudette Marie Ferriter, son Ronald Francis Ferriter, daughters Paulette Jo Ferriter, Shannon Marie Kelly, son in-law Sean Patrick Kelly, grandsons Chase and Chad Sambell, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his third grandchild.

Joe was born in San Francisco on March 30, 1929. A resident of San Rafael for 63 years, Joe graduated from St. Ignacius High School in 1947. A Korean War Veteran, as a Marine, Joseph was twice awarded the Purple Heart. A member of the distinguished fraternity The Chosin Few.

After retiring from the Korean War, he completed his bachelors degree in business from the University of San Francisco in 1953. Upon graduating he began his 36 year career as a Securities Trader.

Joe and Claudette were parents to many foster children before adopting and having their own. He enjoyed biking on Mt Tamalpais, Stinson Beach. and participating in his children's swimming, dance, and gymnastics events. In his latter years, he enjoyed playing Bocce ball, drives to the coast with friends, joking with his many friends, and watching his grandsons. He was a die hard 49er fan.

Just a few months ago, he went on a Marine Corp. trip to visit Korea with life-long friend Richard P. (Kuser) Nave. And a few weeks ago, Richard Nave and Jim Baxter took him on his last visit to Camp Pendleton.

He is loved and will be missed by many. Siemper Fi!

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Thursday Feb. 22, 2001 at 11:00am at St. Isabella's Church, Terra Linda. A Rosary will be said Wednesday evening at 7pm at the Church. Friends may call from 12 to 5pm Tuesday at the mortuary. Inurnment Private
