HAMMOND, Elizabeth Fallows -- Died on February 12th in Greenbrae, CA. Mrs. Hammond was born in New York City on October 31, 1913. She was the daughter of Charles Samuel Fallows and Eda Bruna Fallows. She was raised in Saratoga, California when her family moved from New York during her childhood.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Huntington Hammond Clark and Elizabeth Penn Hammond Payne; her son-in-law Nettleton S. Payne, M.D.; and her two grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Payne and Nenleton S. Payne, In.
She attended the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Lyons, France. Mrs. Hamnmond was active in local organizations having been a director in the Sunny Hills Orphanage, Marin Garden Club, the Lagunitas Club, all of Marin, and the Century Club and Town and Country Club in San Francisco.
Private services have been held. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to: Stanford University (Memo: for The Howard and Elizabeth Hammond Memorial Fund for Alzheimer's research) and mailed to: Memorial Gifts, Office of Development, Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center, 326 Galvez Street, Stanford, CA 94305-6105.
