Dr. Jaegeling, Former Larkspur Mayor, Dies

Dr. Thurlow C. Jaegeling of Corte Madera, former mayor of Larkspur, died yesterday en route to Marin General Hospital, where he was rushed after suffering chest pains. He was 70.

Jaegeling served on the Larkspur City Council from 1934 to 1948, including three terms as mayor. He was a member of the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District board from 1950 to 1957.

Jaegeling, a native of San Francisco, moved to Larkspur in 1925 and practiced dentistry there until 1970, when he retired and moved to Corte Madera. The family home is at 139 Pixley Avenue.

He was a member of the California Dental Association, the Marin County Dental Society, the American Dental Association, Marin Lodge 191, Free and Accepted Masons, the Larkspur Lions Club and San Rafael Lodge 1108, Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jaegeling, two daughters, Phyllis Lundberg of Novato and Joy Best of Corte Madera, and four grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Redwood Presbyterian Church in Larkspur. Burial will be private.

The family prefers contributions to the Redwood Presbyterian church or to the charity of one's choice.
A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: he was the son of the late Julius P. Jaegeling, DDS and Pauline R. Jaegeling.
The California Death Index gives his birth date as October 26, 1902.
