McFarland, Glenn Joseph - A Pharmacist who had retired in 1993, died Feb. 18, 2001, at home with family at his side. He was 75. The native and lifelong resident of Martinez was a World War II veteran and a 1950 graduate of the School of Pharmacy at Missoula, MT. He was a founding member of Martinez Golf Association; was formerly active in Martinez Chamber of commerce; and was a member of the Alhambra High School Class of 1944. He was an avid golfer who loved music and his piano. He enjoyed the ocean, the Sierra, and long drives to Reno. He was a loving father and grandfather who treasured his friendships. His daughters, Marianne McFarland of Concord, CA, Kathleen O'Connell of Martinez, CA, Patty McFarland of San Anselmo, CA, and Marilyn Barbour of Exeter, RI; son, Alan McFarland of Middletown, NJ; brother Bishop Norman McFarland of Orange, CA; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him. His wife, Celesta Ruth McFarland, died in 1991.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm with Rosary at 7 pm Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Connolly & Taylor Chapel, 4000 Alhambra Ave., Martinez, CA 94553. The Funeral Mass will be at 11 am Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church, Martinez, CA with burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, San Pablo, CA.
