Isabella Hummel Reed Dies At 67 After Illness
Isabella Hummel Reed, 67, a resident of Marin County for 50 years, died yesterday after a long illness.
Mrs. Reed, widow of Grosvenor C. Reed, who died in 1956, was a clerk with Pacific Gas and Electric Co. for 30 years prior to her retirement four years ago. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen R. Fisher, at 112 San Rafael Avenue, San Rafael.
Also surviving are a son, Grover M. Reed of San Rafael, two sisters, Mrs. Helen O’Keeffe of Guerneville and Mrs. E‘O’Line Barrett of Palo Alto, and two grandchildren.
A native of California, Mrs. Reed was a member of the North Bay branch of the Pacific Service Employees Assn., the Marin Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary and the Good Sports Club.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary, 1411 Third Street, San Rafael. Interment will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
A Death Notice in the same paper gives Mrs. Reed’s husband as Governor C. Reed; she was the grandmother of Michelle and Adrienne Fisher.
The CA Death Index adds information: Isabella M. Reed’s death date is given as May 2, 1962; born CA August 1, 1894; mother’s maiden name was Axel.
