Charles P. Rossi
Service station operator
Charles P. Rossi, a lifelong San Rafael resident, died Sunday, September 3, 1989, at Marin General Hospital. He was 78.
Mr. Rossi was born in San Rafael and graduated from San Rafael High School. He also attended Heald Business College.
He was a service station operator for more than 40 years. He first operated a Richfield station on Fourth Street across from the former Marin Court House for 35 years.
Mr. Rossi retired, but returned to work six months later and operated an Exxon station at Third and Irwin Streets in San Rafael. He retired again in 1970.
He was a memnber of the Young Men's Institute of San Rafael and belonged to St. Raphael's Church.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Myrtle Rossi of San Rafael; a daughter, Judith Waller of Novato; a son, John Rossi of Fairfax; a stepson William Yeo of Sonoma; and a brother, Joseph Rossi of San Rafael.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael's Church. Inurnment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to a favorite charity.
