Peter Rossi, who lived in San Rafael for three-quarters of a century, died yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness. He was 87.
Rossi was born in Italy. He came to the United States when he was 12.
Rossi worked for the Northwest Pacific Railroad for more than 50 years. He last served as a railroad car inspector before retiring 20 years ago.
He is survived by his sons, Elmo Rossi and Raymond Rossi, both of San Rafael, and three grandchildren. Rossi's wife of 58 years, Theresa Rossi, died in 1972.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Raphael's Church, San Rafael. The Rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. at Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.
