Private service was held today in San Francisco for Nana Lee Gannon, mother of Thomas M. Gannon Jr. of San Rafael.
She died Sunday at a local convalescent hospital following a long illness. Burial was private.
Mrs. Gannon, 90, was a native of Marysville, Yuba County, but lived most of her life in San Francisco. Her late husband, Thomas M. Gannon Sr., was a San Francisco attorney.
Mrs. Gannon was a 1902 graduate of the University of California Dental School, the only woman in the class. She practiced dentistry in San Francisco for many years before taking over operation of the Wilkins private grammar school in San Francisco. The school was founded by her mother.
She retired from the school position 10 years ago and moved to the San Rafael convalescent hospital two years later.
Mrs. Gannon also is survived by two grandsons.
