Death of John White
Mr. John White, the well known contractor, died last Saturday night. Mr. White had been in poor health for a long time, and for four weeks past had suffered more than usual, yet his friends did not realize that his condition was so serious. He went to sleep as usual Saturday night. Mrs. Welch, the good woman who had been his housekeeper, and a mother to his children for two years, not hearing from him during the night, though she frequently listened, did not re-enter his room until morning, and then she found that death had quietly touched him in his sleep. Mr. White was a member of Marin Lodge, No. 200, I.O.O.F. and of San Rafael Lodge, No. 24, A.O.U.W. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon from Odd Fellows' hall, conducted by the Lodge and Rev. Mr. Atkinson, of the Congregational church.
Same paper; column headed "Local Intelligence":
Mr. John White left a will and appointed his sister, Mrs. Finley, executrix.
