TREWIN, Kathleen Frances -- Died Thursday, morning January 31, 2002 at Peninsula Hospital. She was the daughter of Thomas Hughes, originally of Co. Mayo, and Julia McCarthy, originally of Co. Cork. Kathleen was born January 12, 1913 in San Francisco. She had four siblings Mary Rhodes, Alice McGraw and Thomas Hughes who predeceased her and her sister Dorothy Buchanan and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her. Kathleen attended Star of the Sea High School in San Francisco. She married B.E. Trewin November 4, 1941. Her husband worked for Aramco and so, in 1945, she was among the first American Women allowed to join their spouses in Arabia. Kathleen and Bev had two children John Trewin and Kathleen Trewin Tsatsaronis who grew up in Arabia. The family returned to the United States in 1962. For twenty-four years they made their home in Greenbrae, Marin Co. Kathleen was widowed in 1983 and moved to San Mateo a few years later. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Tony Tsatsaronis and her son John and daughter-in-law Connie Partmann Trewin. Kathleen also leaves four beloved grandchildren John, Thomas, Laura, and James Trewin all of San Mateo. Friends are invited to attend a Rosary on Friday, February 1, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Sneider and Sullivan Funeral Home 977 So. El Camino Real in San Mateo. Mass will be Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church 300 Alameda De Las Pulgas in San Mateo. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma. Donations in her name to the Notre Dame High School Belmont Gynasium Fund 1540 Ralston Avenue Belmont, CA 94002 are preferred by the family. SNEIDER AND SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME (650) 343-1804
