Phillip Seibel, a millwright who spent virtually his entire life in Marin County, died in a local hospital yesterday after a long illness. He was 79.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary in San Rafael, following memorial services at the mortuary at 7:30 o'clock tonight to be conducted by San Rafael Aerie 256, Fraternal Order of Eagles, of which Seibel was a 50-year member. Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
He was born in Fairfax and his work as a millwright extended over about 40 years. Before retirement he was employed by Henry Hess Lumber Co. in San Rafael.
Survivors include his wife, Sophie E., at the family home at 337 Seibel Street, San Rafael, and two step-children, Mrs. Violet Lake of Woodacre and Mrs. Julia Hellwig of San Rafael.
A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: Julia was the wife of Walter O. Hellwig; Mr. Seibel was the uncle of Mrs. Howard Bokin and Phillip Cassiman of Vallejo.
The CA Death Index gives his birthdate as June 8, 1883; his mother's maiden name was Coon.
