Thomas M. Shine
Longtime Larkspur resident
Thomas Melvin Shine of San Rafael died Thursday, July 1, 1993, at his home in San Rafael after a brief illness. He was 92.
Mr. Shine was born in 1900 in Larkspur and spent most of his life there.
During World War II, Mr. Shine worked as a machinist building submarines at Muir Island. During his early 20s, he was an engineer on ferryboats operating between Sausalito and San Francisco. Later, he was employed as an operator at North Marin Water District for 15 years.
Mr. Shine was a member of the Young Menís Institute No. 10 in San Rafael, a Catholic fraternal organization.
He is survived by a daughter, Peggy Wilson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mission San Rafael Arcangel (sic) in San Rafael.
Vigil services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Keatonís Mortuary Chapel, 1022 E St., San Rafael. Visitation begins at noon Monday, also at the mortuary.
Memorial donations should be made to Nazareth House, 245 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael.
