The funeral for S. (Sigurd) Norman Dahlstrom of Corte Madera will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
Mr. Dahlstrom died Monday at Marin General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 86.
A native of Norway, he moved to the United States in 1917 and lived more than 30 years in Marin. He was a self-employed masonry contractor for 60 years, working on both commercial buildings and homes.
Mr. Dahlstrom was a life member of the 114-year-old Normannensse Singing Society of Chicago, the oldest male singing society in the world. He also was a member of the Marin Lutheran Church, Brick Masons Union Local 7 in San Francisco and the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by a brother, Henry Dahlstrom of Richmond; a sister, Helge (sic) Peterson of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews.
Entombment will be in the Piedmont Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery, Oakland. Friends may call at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
A Death Notice in the same paper mentions his sister as Mrs. Peter (Helga) Peterson.
