Funeral has been held for 20-year Marin resident, Julian Berger of Greenbrae. Berger, 73, died Sunday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Baltimore, Md., Berger was retired vice-president and merchandise manager for Weinstein and Co. in San Francisco. He had lived in California 47 years.
Berger had been awarded for meritorious service in the war effort by Franklin D. Roosevelt while working for the Office of Price Administration during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Berger; daughters, Carol Hurwitz of San Rafael and Judy Wedekind of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Rose Blum and Sylvia Cohen, both of Baltimore, and six grandchildren.
A Death Notice in the same paper names the grandchildren: Kathy and Steve Lauritzen, Brent and Kent Wedekind and Susan and Steve Hurwitz. The funeral was private and held on Wednesday, July 14. Arrangements by Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
