Albert A. Lyon Succumbs
Albert Allen Lyon, 69, of Woodacre, died yesterday in a local hospital, apparently of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in San Rafael less than two weeks ago.
A customs inspector for 38 years, Lyon moved to 137 Central Avenue in Fairfax, from San Francisco on his retirement two years ago.
A native of California, he was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Hanna Boys' Center in San Francisco.
Lyon was injured on May 5 when his car collided with another at Lincoln and Mission Avenues. An autopsy was to be performed.
He is survived by two sons, George Lyon of San Rafael, and Albert A. Lyon Jr. of Garden Grove, Orange County. Five grandchildren also survive.
The funeral procession will form at Keaton's Mortuary, Fifth Avenue at E Street, San Rafael, at 8:15 a.m. tomorrow and proceed to St. Cecelia's Church in Lagunitas where a High Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. The Rosary will be recited at Keaton's tomorrow at 8 p.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: he was the husband of the late Isabel Lyon. The full name of the one son was William George Lyon, according to the death notice.
The CA Death Index adds his birth date: June 12, 1892.
