William A. Ford
William A. Ford of San Rafael, an operating engineer and 13-year Marin resident, died Monday in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 60.
Ford, a native San Franciscan, worked for the last 15 years as an operating engineer for the city and county of San Francisco. Before that he was automobile salesman.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the Army in the African and European campaigns.
Ford was a member of the American Legion, Wilkins Post 37, the San Francisco Elks Lodge and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Ford; three children, William, John and Diane Ford, all of San Rafael; and six brothers and sisters, the Rev. Edmund Ford of Menlo Park, Catherine Curtin of San Francisco, Loretta Masters of San Carlos, Edna Murphy of Burlingame, Eileen Dillon of Millbrae and Elizabeth Ford of San Francisco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Santa Venetia. Rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. at Keaton's Mortuary.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
