WILLIAM L. HUDSON, 60, SUCCUMBS
William L. Hudson, 60, executive secretary of the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, died at a San Francisco hospital yesterday after a long illness.
Hudson, a native of Bakersfield, lived with his wife, Virginia, at 2517 Mar East Street in Tiburon. They had lived in Tiburon since last August, moving from Berkeley.
Hudson became executive secretary of the Commonwealth Club in 1966. He was with the club for 39 years, starting work there shortly after being graduated from the University of California at Berkeley where he was editor of the Daily Californian.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Dirk of Los Angeles, William, graduate student at the University of California at Irvine, and John, a student at Southern College in Ashland, Ore.; a brother, Nathaniel Hudson of Berkeley, and a sister, Elladora Furbish of Los Angeles.
Private funeral will be held tomorrow at Halsted and Co., San Francisco. Burial will be private.
