JOHN J. FLANAGAN
Private services will be conducted for John J. Flanagan, longtime Corte Madera resident who died following a short illness Monday, June 22, 1987, at his home.
Mr. Flanagan was 60. He was a native of Tarrytown, N.Y., and had lived in Mill Valley for five years before moving to Corte Madera 22 years ago.
He was a graduate of Northwestern University, an Army veteran of World War II and a former sales representative for Motor Cargo in Hayward.
According to his wife, Elizabeth Flanagan of Corte Madera, he was a talented craftsman and woodcarver. A remodeling project he did at his home included installation of leaded glass windows and plumbing.
He was a former member of the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oakland and of the Model A Club in Marin.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Erin Flanagan and Canice Flanagan of Corte Madera, and a son, Sean Flanagan of Mill Valley.
The family asks that donations be sent to Hospice of Marin or St. Anthony’s Dining Room in San Francisco.
The Neptune Society is handling arrangements.
