VINCENT LA BARGE
Requiem Mass will be offered for Vincent A. La Barge Sr., 70, a retired Oakland businessman, at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church, Olema, and burial will be in Olema Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at Keatonís Mortuary, San Rafael.
La Barge died Thursday at a San Rafael convalescent hospital following a long illness.
He was an executive with General Motors for many yeas before opening his own business, Central Tire Service, in Oakland. He retired in 1956 and moved to Inverness in 1960.
He was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus in Berkeley and a longtime member of the East Oakland Rotary Club.
Survivors are his wife, Lucy; a son, Vincent A. Jr., Berkeley; a daughter, Mrs. Elinor L. Hastings of New York; three brothers, Pierre L. La Barge and Rear Adm. Charles La Barge, both of Missouri, and Henry L. La Barge of Michigan, and eight grandchildren.
A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was a native of St. Louis, Missouri.
