Carlo T. Gelardi
Passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2002 after a year long battle with cancer. Carlo was born and raised in San Francisco's North Beach. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. He was known as a very classy dresser. He was a classic car enthusiast, who had his own cars, as well as a tending many of the car shows in the Bay Area. Carlo was a resident of Marin County for 23 years. He worked as a bridge serviceman on the Golden Gate Bridge for 25 years. He also tended bar at the Corinthian Yacht Club for many years. He is survived by his devoted wife Marlene, of 32 years. He was the beloved father of Carla Thawley and her husband Mike of San Rafael and Laurie Gelardi, of Los Angeles. He was preceded in death by his parents Pasquale and Mary Gelardi. He was the proud Nono of Michalea Thawley and Mia Gelardi. He leaves his father and mother in-law, Bob and Edna Creech, his loving sister, Marie Baeza and her husband, Tom. He is also survived by numerous loving cousins, nieces, and nephews and their families. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at 10:00 AM at St. Anselm's Church, Ross. Vigil Services will be held on Monday at 7:00 PM at Monte's Chapel Of The Hills, San Anselmo. Interment Valley Memorial Park, Novato. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday after 6:00 PM.
