Mrs. Esther Dorothy Miller, 47-year-old wife of San Quentin Correctional Officer Roy Miller, died last night at her Santa Venetia home, apparently from a stroke.
She resided at 135 North San Pedro Road and had worked as bookkeeper at Bill’s Refrigerator Co. in Corte Madera for the past six years. She was a native of Wisconsin.
Her employer, Wendell F. Williams of 70 Nelson Avenue, Mill Valley, was visiting her last night when she complained about not feeling well. Williams told Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph C. Kelly that she took a pill and went to the bedroom. He heard a noise in the bedroom and checked, to find her having difficulty breathing.
He called the sheriff’s office at 9:48 p.m.
An autopsy was performed today at Harry M. Williams Mortuary. Funeral arrangements are pending at Eggen and Lance Mortuary in Santa Rosa.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Miller leaves a sister, Mrs. Frank Schfelbein of Santa Rosa.
The CA Death Index adds information: she was born September 4, 1914;her mother’s name was Fish
