Greenbrae psychologist Dr. JOHN G. SHROCK, 66
Dr. John G. Shrock of Greenbrae, psychologist and educator, died Saturday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 66.
Shrock was born and reared in Michigan and received his bachelorís degree from Albion College of Indiana. He earned a doctorate in education at Stanford University.
Most recently, he had been an education psychologist with the U. S. Bureau of Public Health in San Francisco. Before that, he was a lecturer in dental education at San Francisco State University, had a private psychology practice in Burlingame, was chief psychologist for the San Mateo schools and was a counselor and instructor at Stanford University at various times.
He also worked at one time as director of counseling for the Veterans Administration in San Francisco and had been director of the fine arts division at Albion College and at Washington State University.
Shrock had lived in Marin County six years. His home most recently was at 60 Corte Ortega.
His hobby was painting and his murals are in Coit Tower and the San Francisco Maritime Museum.
Shrock was a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association. He was past president of the Stanford Guidance Association.
He is survived by his son, David Shrock of Hillsborough, and his parents, Clarence and Nellie Shrock of Michigan.
Private burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
