JOSEPH GEREGHTY

Joseph A. Gereghty Sr., former Marin County resident, died Saturday in Santa Rosa after a brief illness. He was 74.

Before moving to Santa Rosa about seven years ago, Gereghty managed the apartment building at 260 Canal Street in San Rafael. He lived in Marin about 13 years. Prior to that, he lived in Southern California and was a sales manager.

He was a native of New York.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Gereghty Jr. of Marin County, John Joseph Gereghty of Honolulu; two daughters, Elizabeth Rich of Windsor and Patricia Lewis of Garden Grove, Orange County; three sisters, Rosebell Klockgetter, Elizabeth Chambers and Mildren Ritter, all of New York; two brothers, James and Charles Gereghty, also of New York, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Sebastianís Church in Greenbrae. Burial will be private. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Keatonís Mortuary in San Rafael.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the Central Marin Boys Club.
