Lillian M. Powers
New Jersey native
Lillian M. Powers of Novato died yesterday, Feb. 26, 1993, at Raphael Convalescent home in San Rafael. She was 66.
Mrs. Powers was born in New Jersey.
She attended business college in New York and worked as a legal secretary there until she became a homemaker.
She lived in Novato about 11 years and worked at Firemanís Fund in Novato for many years as a secretary.
She was an enthusiastic bridge player, sang in choir at St. Isabellaís Church for many years and had a passion for music.
Mrs. Powers is survived by two daughters, Celia Sellers of Brown Deer, Wis., and Mary Elizabeth Powers of Dover, N.J.; three brothers, Gerard Hughes of New York, Joe Hughes of New Jersey and Tommy Hughes, also of New Jersey; one sister, Ellen Marshall of Maine; and two grandsons.
Vigil services will be recited at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. Isabellaís Church in Terra Linda.
The funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 1, at St. Isabellaís. Burial will be private.
Contributions are preferred to Hospice of Marin.
Arrangements are by Keatonís Mortuary in San Rafael.
The California Death Index adds information: she was born March 31, 1926; her motherís maiden name was Hughes, as was her fatherís surname.
