A funeral Mass is Wednesday for Anna G. Oliveira, who died March 26. She was 85.
Born in San Francisco, she was a frequent visitor to Sausalito as a child. She met her husband, George, there at a Portuguese dance festival in 1930. The couple lived on Spring Street after they were married in 1930 and moved to Mill Valley in 1951. Her husband died in 1979.
She worked for the Internal Revenue Service and retired after 23 years. She was a member of the Portuguese Lodge U.P.E C. and I.D.E.S.S.T. in Sausalito and t he Native Sons of the Golden West Tamalpais Parlor in Mill Valley. She enjoyed reading, gardening, her church and being with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Lino of Novato, a brother, Joseph G. Silva of Guerneville, a grandsoN, Edward Lino of Windsor, and a great-grandson.
The funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Mill Valley. A vigil service is at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Petaluma or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
