Judith Ann Gorski
Passed away early in the morning on Thursday, April 4, 2002 after courageously fighting colon cancer over the past fourteen months. She was 58 years old. She was a loving and cherishing wife to her husband Larry; a proud and dedicated mother to her three sons Steve, Kevin and Vince; a generous mother (-in-law) to Mary and Carrie (and Doris); an enchanted grandmother to Ana; a loyal sister to her four siblings Wayne (Phyliss) and Dave (Lois) Cutcher, Rose (Raymond) Luyet, and Marlene (Gene) Kutchenwriter; a caring and tender daughter to her mother Orleana (the late Vincent); a "big sister" to her nieces and nephews; and a wonderful true-friend to the many people she touched throughout her life. Judy was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio and moved with her family to California in 1978, where she raised her boys on the soccer fields of Pleasanton. A stay-at-home mother, Judy also worked a number of flexible-hour jobs to help support her family. She was particularly proud of her accomplishments selling art. Later in life she moved to Novato, California, where she worked as a member of the St. Mark's School family of employees and worshipped as a member of the Unity Church, where she was studying to become a chaplain. Judy also loved to travel and during her lifetime was able to explore Tahiti, Europe, the Canadian Rockies, and Hawaii, among others. But mostly she relished being in the company of friends and family, who knew her as the first to arrive and the last to leave any gathering. Judy's final year was marked by the traits that defined her life. Anyone who had the honor of being with her during her journey was truly inspired by the dignity, faith, selflessness, humor and grace in which she faced life's greatest mystery. She died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by the family who loved her and will miss her deeply. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, April 7 at 2:00 PM at the Unity Church (600 Palm Drive, Novato, California) and on Saturday, April 20 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepard Church in Toledo, Ohio. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice of Marin in the name of Judy Gorski. KEATON'S REDWOOD CHAPEL, 415-897-1151
