LEATHERS, William Randolph -- On 10/22/2001 at home in Lockeford, CA. Formerly of Milbrae and Tiburon. Born 10/18/1918. Age 83. Native of St. Louis, Missouri. He was raised in Longmeadow, Massachussetts. He attended Taft Prep School and was graduated from Yale University in 1941. He served in the O.S.S. as a Captain. He taught map reading in Aberdeen, Maryland during WWII. He married Anne Flaherty on April 15, 1944 in Parlin, New Jersey. The couple resided in Kansas City, Missouri until 1967 when they moved to Greenbrae, CA. Mrs. Leathers died on December 22, 1971. He moved to Tiburon. He later moved to Seattle, Washington in 1996 and to Lockeford in 1998. He was employed with John Hancock Life Insurance Co. as a general agent for 35 years. Consumate traveler, he was a railroad & cruise ship coinesseur and loved martinis. Survived by two daughters, Anne Clune of Seattle, Washington, Martha Arrington of Lockeford; a son, Randy Leathers of Greensboro, North Carolina; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Anne Doyle Leathers and a son, 'Ned' Edmund Leathers. Chapel Service Thursday (TODAY), 11:00am, Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael, CA. Committal Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. Visitation will not be held. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Ave., Stockton, CA 95204. Local arrangements are under the direction of Lodi Funeral Home.
