Jill Waggener Anderson
Passed away peacefully February 4, 2002 in the company of countless family and friends after a three-year fight with breast cancer. She was 39.
Jill is survived by her husband, John, of San Anselmo, her son, Jack, and her daughter, Caroline; her parents, Jim and Carol Waggener, of Green Valley; her sisters, Jennifer (Mike) Livengood of Belmont and Cheryl Waggener of San Francisco; her grandfather, Gordon King of Campbell; her parents-in-law, Jack and Diane Anderson of Piedmont; and four nieces and nephews.
Born in San Jose in 1962, Jill lived in New Jersey and in California, graduating from Vintage High School in Napa in 1980. Following her 1984 graduation from California State University, Chico, Jill began her career in the retail industry. She was most recently an information systems executive with Williams-Sonoma in San Francisco.
Even during her illness, Jill always put the health and happiness of others before herself. She served on the board of the Brookside School Parent's Club and Pixie Park and was an active fund-raiser for many breast cancer charities.
Jill was a marvelous cook and entertainer, particularly well known for her zabaglione and fireworks displays. She loved to travel with family and friends and to sit quietly and watch her children play on the pier at Lake Tahoe or in the shadow of the Grand Tetons.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service at St. John's Episcopal Church, 14 Lagunitas Road, Ross, on Tuesday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jill W. Anderson to the Marin Breast Cancer Committee, P.O. Box 511, Kentfield, CA 94914, (415) 455-5882, www.marinbcc.org.
