Private funeral for Emma Tyroler, retired Greenbrae beauty operator, was held yesterday in San Francisco.
She died Friday in a local hospital following a long illness.
Mrs. Tyroler, 78, of 139 Greenbrae Boardwalk, was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She came to this country in 1920 and operated her own beauty parlor in San Francisco until retiring in 1947.
She was a member of Margaret Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, in Glasgow.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar, president of the Greenbrae Rod and Gun Club and treasurer of the Greenbrae Improvement Club; two sons, William Young of San Francisco and Charles Young of San Carlos; two stepdaughters, Florine Tregor of Westlake and Pauline Young of San Francisco; a sister, Elizabeth MacKay of Menlo Park; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Olivet Memorial Park, Colma.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society are preferred by the family.
