Heart Attack Kills Alice W. Peterson (sic), Longtime Resident
Alice White Paterson, 52, prominent Marin county club member, amateur artist and wife of Hugh Paterson, head counselor and mathematics teacher at San Rafael High school, died last night at San Rafael General Hospital, following a heart attack at her home three hours earlier.
Mrs. Paterson, who had suffered a bad heart condition for some time, was a member of the San Francisco Society of Women Artists, the Marin Society of Artists, the Thursday Music Club and the W omenís Society of the First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael.
Well known among the faculty of the local high school, Mrs. Paterson was described today by Edwin A. Wells, the schoolís principal, speaking for the faculty, as a real and generous person. The faculty will miss her as though she were one of the staff, he said.
Also surviving is a son, Hugh Paterson Jr.
Friends may call at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael, tomorrow night. A memorial service will be held Saturday at a time yet to be set.
A Death Notice on page 7 of this paper adds that she was the grandmother of Alice Jean Paterson, sister of John F., James G., William W. and Robert H. White; she was a native of Chicago.
