Bernice V. Pensabene
Made her transition on February 24, 2002 in Somona, California. Dearly beloved wife for 52 years of the late Domenic G. Pensabene, both natives of San Francisco. Cherished mother of Marilyn Madrone of Sebastopol and Rich Pensabene of Sonoma, dear grandmother of Danny Pensabene, Natalie Pensabene and Cara Pensabene, all of the Sonoma area, and beloved aunt of Rosemary Ledbetter of Arizona, and Cindi Schuler, Wendi Arendell, and Denise Humphrey of Petaluma.
During her teenage years, Bernice enjoyed acclaim for several years as a saxophonist. As vaudeville entertainers, she and her older sister Lina, an accordionist, toured 46 of the 48 states and Canada.
Known for her fine Italian cooking, Bernice was a homemaker in San Francisco's Marina District and in Terra Linda, Marin. As a widow, she lived in Sonoma at Westlake House with her cat Bart.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Service on Friday, March 1st, 2002 at Valley Memorial Park, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 28th, 2002 at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma.
Contributions in her memory are suggest, in lieu of flowers, to Hospice Valley of the Moon, 735 Broadway, Sonoma, 95476, and to Pets' Lifeline, 19686 Eighth Street East, Sonoma, 95476.
