San Rafael Movie Star Dies At 79

Funeral services will be held in San Anselmo tomorrow for Alfred Owen Plummer, former movie actor and upholsterer who died March 2 at Palm Springs. A 79-year-old native of Australia, Plummer had lived at Woodacre for about 40 years.

A retired upholsterer for Matson Navigation Co., Plummer had worked in movies at the old San Rafael Studios, the present site of Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery where he will be buried. He also worked many years ago at the old Mack Sennett Studios with such actors as Chester Conklin, Fatty Arbuckle and many other comedians.

Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Amy L. Norton of Fairfax, Mrs. Aileen Morris of Sydney, Australia, and three grandchildren, Mrs. June Monson, John Owen Norton and Mrs. Patricia Roselli.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow from the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
