Arthur John Leonardi
Born January 30, 1956, Art lived life to the fullest until a heart attack claimed his life on Sunday, February 3, 2002. He was devoted to his loving wife Caren and their three children, Nicole, and six month old twins Rachael and Steven. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Giambra, niece Lila Giambra, and loving aunt, Norma Noeller. His parents, Angelo and Esther Leonardi preceded him in death.
A lifelong resident of Marin County, he graduated San Rafael High School in 1974. He began his professional career with the Operating Engineer's Union, before beginning his own electrical company, A. Leonardi Electric. Beyond his success as an electrician, Art embraced life on the edge. From motor cross championships to competitive water skiing, to High Points World Champion Boat Racer two years in a row, Art strove to be number one and settled for nothing less. He was an assistant soccer coach as well. Loved by many, Art inspired loyalty and devotion, and offered the same to his friends and family. Besides his family, Art spent much of his spare time designing and facilitating the remodeling of their family home.
Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass Friday, February 8, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Loretto's Catholic Church 1806 Novato Blvd., Novato, with interment immediately following at Valley Memorial Park, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for his children may be made to the Art Leonardi Trust Fund, c/o Westamerica Bank, P.O. Box 47, Novato, CA 94948.
