Manuel F. Azevedo, 69, a cement finisher and longtime resident of Mill Valley, died yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness.

Azevedo retired three years ago, having last worked for Ghilotti Brothers of San Rafael. He lived at 312 Oakdale Avenue.

He came to California from the Azores. He lived 60 years in California, 37 years in Mill Valley.

He was a member of the IDESST in Sausalito and of the Eagles, supreme area, in Kansas City, Kan.

Azevedo is survived by his wife, Anna F. Azevedo; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Robinson of Mill Valley; a sister, Mrs. Mary Navalhas of Santa Cruz; and two grandchildren.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mill Valley. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Russell and Gooch Mortuary, Mill Valley. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper names the grandchildren as Ann and Dennis Robinson.
