Private funeral services will be tomorrow in San Rafael for retired American Red Cross executive James (Clyde) Baird, 65, of San Rafael who died Friday in a local hospital following a short illness.
In 43 years of service Baird had occupied many executive positions with the organization throughout the United States and the Middle East. At the time of his death he was training chairman of the Marin chapter as well as a member of the disaster committee.
He was born in Morganfield, Ky., and was graduated from Berea Colleg in Berea, Ky.
Baird first moved to Marin in 1943, then relocated in Seattle, Wash. in 1952, where he lived until returning to marin in 1963.
He belonged to the Alpine Club in Tamalpais Valley and the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco.
Surviving him are a son, James C. Baird of Providence, R.I. and a daughter, Susan of San Rafael, and four grandchildren.
Inurnment will be private. The family prefers that donations be made to charity.
A Death Notice in the same paper mentions that he was the husband of the late Virginia F. Baird. In addition to his son, he was survived by his daughter, Susan C. Northfield, and grandchildren: Mark, David, and Lynn Ann Northfield and Allison Baird.
