HERBERT R. BUFFAM
Former Marin businessman
Herbert Randolph Buffam, a former Marin County businessman, died at Sonoma County Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 13, 1990. He was 71.
Mr. Buffam was born in West Springfield, Mass. He served in the Air Force during World War II, and was recalled for duty during the Korean War. He retired from the Air Force Reserves with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1979.
In 1962, Mr. Buffam started Marin Drapery Service. He later moved his business to Santa Rosa.
Mr. Buffam was a member of a number of organizations connected to his Air force service. They included the Air Force Sergeants Association, the Air Force Association, the Northern California Council of Military Organizations and the National Forget-Me-Not For POWs/MIAs.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doris Norma Buffam; a daughter, Gail Lane of Reno; a son, Ralston Buffam of Novato; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18, at Bates, Evans & Fehrensen in Sonoma. Private interment will be at the Presidio in San Francisco at a later date.
