MRS. REX SHERER Dies Here After Short Illness
A short illness was fatal to Mrs. Ida S. Sherer, member of the Studebaker family of South Bend, Ind., who died Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Harry D. Johnson at 201 Locust avenue.
She was the widow of the late Rex Sherer, who for many years operated Hotchkiss Military Academy, now the Tamalpais School for Boys, here. Since his death two years ago, she has made her home here with Mrs. Johnson, whose late husband was Mrs. Sherer’s second cousin.
Mrs. Sherer was the daughter of the late J. S. Studebaker, one of the five brothers who founded the Studebaker corporation at South Bend, where she was born.
As Mrs. Ida S. Kuhns, Mrs. Sherer had visited Mrs. Johnson many times. Her marriage to Mr. Sherer took place four years ago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Johnson home. The Rev. H. I. Oberholtzer, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, officiated. Interment took place privately.
