A funeral service for Clayton Banks of San Rafael was held this morning. Banks, 56, died Friday in a traffic accident.

A native of Georgia, Banks moved to Marin County 35 years ago and had worked for the San Rafael branch of the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for the past 34 years.

He was a member of Fairfax Lodge No. 556 Free and Accepted Masons and was a veteran of World War II.

Banks is survived by his wife, Betty; a daughter, Melaine Summers of Lafayette; three sons, Steven Banks of Reno, Ronald Banks of Rohnert Park, and Mark Banks of Sparks, Nev.; one sister, Irene Murray of Bainbridge, Ga.; four brothers, Ernest Banks of Cairo, Ga., Floyd and LeMar Banks, both of Thomasville, Ga., and Earl Banks of Lee, Fla.

The family prefers memorial gifts to the Shriners’ Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco.

A Death Notice in the March 3rd paper mentions his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Banks of Whigham, Ga., and his grandchildren, Kevin Banks and Ian Summers. He was a native of Pelham, Ga.
