ADEEB S. HATTAR
Adeeb S. Hattar, a resident of Novato, died Thursday. He was 64.
He died of an apparent heart attack on a plane enroute from Houston, Texas to a cruise vacation in Acapulco, Mexico.
A native of Jordan, he came to the United States in 1970 and settled in San Francisco. He moved to Novato in 1979.
He retired from a life as a merchant in Jordan. He was the owner of several businesses including a bus company, a liquor store and a gun shop.
He came to the United States to be with his sons who had moved here as students to escape the civil war in Jordan.
He is survived by his wife, Afifeh Hattar of Novato; four sons, Zuhair, Michael, Maurice, and Elias Hattar, all of Novato; four daughters, Magdolen Mughannam of Novato, Adla Nesheiwat of Novato, and Hilda and Dina Hattar, both of Novato; two brothers, Jamiel and Kareen Hattar, both of Jordan; and 15 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato. He will be buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Monday in Keatonís Chapel of Marin in Novato.

A Death Notice in the same paper names his grandchildren: Tariq, Shadi, Samir, Suhair, Ramzy, Nadia, Caroline, Basum, Samir, Rami, Omar, Michael, Hilda, Maria and Rodger.
