A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Daniel’s Chapel of the Roses in Santa Rosa for Charlie Stone of Santa Rosa, longtime manager at McPhail’s store in San Rafael.

Mr. Stone, who was 53, died Monday, June 22, 1987, at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

He was manager of building materials at McPhail’s store in San Rafael for 25 years. Mr. Stone belonged to the Teamsters Union Local 624 and Laborers Union Local 291 for over 25 years. His hobby was fishing.

Mr. Stone was a native of Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Earline Stone of Santa Rosa; two sons, Charles Henry Stone of Wisconsin and Charles Gregory Stone of Santa Rosa; three daughters, Sherrie Stone of Cotati, Cherlene Stone and Wendy Phillips, both of Santa Rosa; two brothers, James Vanleer of Chicago and Charles Hervert of Indianapolis; and two sisters, Ernestine Carr and Dianne Hardemon of Nashville.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Daniel’s Chapel of the Roses. The family prefers that contributions go to the Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.
