GEORGE N. WALKER Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for George N. Walker Sr., a 50-year resident of Mill Valley, at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Walker died Sunday in a local convalescent home following a lengthy illness. He was 83.
Before his retirement, Walker worked as a distributor for a San Francisco newspaper for more than 50 yeas. After retiring, Walker served as a counselor at St. Vincentís School for Boys in San Rafael.
A veteran of World War I, Walker was a member of the Mill Valley Post No. 284 of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, M. Frances Walker of Mill Valley; a daughter, Rosanne McLain of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, George N. Walker Jr. of San Rafael and Robert Walker of Prescott, Ariz. and 10 grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.

A Death Notice in the same paper says he was a native of Oakland. Interment was at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
