Former Marin resident
Joan Sybil Peoples Wachowiak, 62, died of breast cancer in her Santa Rosa home on July 14.
She was born in San Francisco, graduated from Sir Francis Drake High School in 1954, and lived in Larkspur and Kentfield before relocating to Sonoma County.
Mrs. Wachowiak lived in both Sebastopol and Rohnert Park before settling in Santa Rosa. The homemaker and accomplished seamstress was co-owner of Brides and Maids in Santa Rosa.
She also enjoyed the arts and leading a 4-H group. Mrs. Wachowiak was a parishioner at the Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa.
Her survivors are her husband of 44 years, Jerome Wachowiak of Santa Rosa; son, Jerome Wachowiak Jr. of Rodeo; three daughters, Wendy Calvi and Amy Wachowiak, both of Santa Rosa, and Christine Disidoro of Windsor; two brothers; two sisters; and eight grandchildren.
