Pioneer Dies at Marin County Farm
Frank Vanderbilt, superintendent of the Marin County Farm, was called by death last Thursday night. He died following a heart attack.
The death of Mr. Vanderbilt removes a pioneer whose friends throughout the county are numberless. Born in Tomales in 1868, he attended school there, and when he had completed school he attended Napa College. He had been superintendent of the County Farm for about seven years.
Funeral rites were held Monday morning from the parlors of Keaton & Dusel. the services were under the auspices of Mira Monte Camp, W.O.W. of which he was a member.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Leah L. Vanderbilt, two sons, William L. and M. H. Vanderbilt, and a daughter, Florine Vanderbilt. He was a brother of Maj. Newell Vanderbilt, Charles Vanderbilt, Mrs. M. Fallon and Mrs. J. W. Schlosser.
