Death Ends Career Of Mrs. Emily Boot
Hundreds of friends paid homage at the bier of Mrs. Emily Boot yesterday, when funeral services were held for her at the chapel of Keaton & Dusel.
Death terminated the long and useful career of Mrs. Boot last Monday, when she died at her home on Southern Heights. She was born in England 85 years ago, and died from the infirmities of age.
Until 1922 the Boots made their home in Fresno, where they arrived in 1880 from New Zealand. Mrs. Margaret E. Powers, a daughter, came to live with them when they moved to their Southern Heights home.
Despite her advanced age Mrs. Boot kept abreast of the times. Always interested in the advancement of her mind, she studied a great deal and was very active.
She leaves her husband, Robert Boot, 93 years of age, and the following sons and daughters to mourn her passing: Edgar S., Leonard, Robert A. and James A. Boot, Mrs. Powers, Mrs. Mabel Fisher, Mrs. Winifred A. Fletcher and Mrs. Ethel Toogood. Deceased was also the mother of the late Charles G. Boot.
