Rev. G. C. Adams Victim of Apoplexy
Noted Preacher Dies in Mill Valley
Rev. George C. Adams, pastor of the First Congregational Church, Post and Mason Streets, died Saturday afternoon at his country home at Mill Valley Heights, as the result of an attack of heart trouble of more than a weeks’ duration. He had also been suffering from a severe case of apoplexy.
He was found ill at his country home more than a week ago, having disappeared from San Francisco and gone to Mill Valley, without announcing his destination. Drs. Palmer and Renz were summoned as soon as he was found, and had remained with him almost constantly since that time.
Saturday noon there was a relapse and he gradually sank until the end. He expired at 5 o’clock, surrounded by members of his family and his physicians. He was 60 years of age and had been pastor of the First Congregational church for 14 years.
