Longtime Mill Valley resident Isabel Kauer died unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 30, 1988, at her home.She was 74.
Mrs. Kauer, a native of Morgantown, Ind., lived in Mill Valley for 34 years. She operated a child care center in her home for 31 years.
Her son, Jerry T. Dillard of Mill Valley, said Mrs. Kauer often was visited by people she had taken care of over the years. Some would bring their spouses and children to see her as well. “She will be missed by many people,” he said.
Mrs. Kauer was a member reader of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Mill Valley, where she had been serving as second reader.
Her husband, Maurice Kauer, died on Dec. 31, 1983.
In addition to her son, Mrs. Kauer is survived by two daughters, Virginia Van Koll of San Rafael and Ruth Kauer of Sacramento; and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.
The family asks that memorial contributions be sent to a favorite charity.
